Larry Greene couldn’t be more pleased with the way his Tanner High girls basketball team has started the season.

On Saturday, the Lady Rattlers claimed the Russellville Thanksgiving Tournament title with wins over the Class 5A host and Class 2A opponent Hatton.

“I’m well pleased with the way the girls played,” Greene said. “Our defensive play resulted in a lot of offensive opportunities for us.”

In the 70-50 win over the Lady Tigers, Alliyah Fletcher led all Tanner scorers with 18 points. Sierra Sales tossed in 17, followed by Lexy Malone with 11.

Against Hatton, Sales had 24 points in the 83-47 win. Sentoya Harper tossed in 21, followed by Fletcher with 16.
