Athens Bible School went 2-1 in the Brewer Invitational Softball Tournament in Morgan County Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Trojans beat Brewer 5-1 and Randolph 5-0 on Friday before losing 4-1 to Danville Saturday.

The tournament was single elimination.

In the win over Brewer, Abbie Melvin picked up the win. She gave up four hits and struck out five.

Kirsten McClure hit a double and single with two RBIs to lead ABS. Emily Irwin, Emily Cathey and Katie Eubanks all singled.

Haley Sandberg was the winning pitcher, giving up one hit.

Emily Cathey hit a triple, Brooke Chittam had two singles, Sandberg hit two singles and Irwin and Haley Chittam hit a single each.



Danville 4,

ABS 1

The win by the Lady Hawks Saturday snapped ABS’s 10-game winning streak.

Melvin was the loser, giving up six hits with one strike out.

Cathey and Ashley Eat doubled for ANS. Melvin hit two singles and Emily Irwin singled.

ABS beat Tharptown 10-3 Thursday before entering the Brewer tournament.

Melvin struck out 10 in the win.
